Leprechaun spawned a horror series that gave us plenty of sequels and a legendary horror icon. Now, the first film is getting the deluxe treatment from Lionsgate Limited with a new 4K UHD + Blu-ray Steelbook release AND a brand-new VHS release on March 17th, 2026.
That’s right, we said VHS. Like the drive-in, it turns out that the VHS tape will never die either. Pre-orders for the new Steelbook and VHS releases are up right now at Lionsgate Limited.
Here’s the official synopsis for Leprechaun from Lionsgate.
In the horror film that launched an eight-movie franchise, Warwick Davis stars in an iconic role as a terrifying Leprechaun who goes on a vengeful rampage after his precious bag of gold coins is stolen. Using his magical powers to trick, terrorize, and kill anyone unlucky enough to hinder his relentless search, the Leprechaun also sets his sights on Tory (Jennifer Aniston, in her first feature role) as she scrambles to find the only weapon known to kill this ancient monster.
Leprechaun was written and directed by Mark Jones and released in 1993. It starred Jennifer Aniston in an early pre-Friends role, and Warwick Davis went against type to play the evil Leprechaun.
