Kiki’s Delivery Service is perhaps one of the most famous of Studio Ghibli’s anime films. Not least of which because it’s also one of the oldest of their anime films, with it being the fourth of their films after Castle in the Sky, Grave of the Fireflies, and My Neighbor Totoro.
This means that for a lot of our older readers here, this particular film is a key part of our childhoods. Back in the 1990’s, Walt Disney Studios acquired worldwide distribution of the Studio Ghibli anime films, which resulted in those anime films screening in NA theaters, appearing in stores as VHS tapes, and therefore reaching out towards kids (and even adults) everywhere in the US. It’s this storied history and the nostalgia factor that’s likely why we’re getting this story.
IMAX is proud to announce that the Studio Ghibli anime film Kiki’s Delivery Service will be screening in IMAX theaters. Not only that, but that screening will be in a 4K remaster exclusive to IMAX. Those screenings will all take place on March 13, 2026. As for tickets? Well, you can in fact purchase those tickets right now directly from IMAX’s official website.
As part of this announcement, IMAX has also released an official trailer for this remastered version of Kiki’s Delivery Service. You can watch it either on YouTube, or just look below:
Kiki’s Delivery Service Screening Remastered in IMAX on March 13, 2026

As a very longtime fan of Studio Ghibli since my childhood, the idea of a 4K remaster of Kiki’s Delivery Service screening in IMAX is making me quite giddy. It’s nostalgia material all the way here, and I’m loving it. It’s seeing Kiki flying on her broom with her magical cat Jiji in crisp, clear animation that brings a tear to my eyes, along with hearing the voice of Kirsten Dunst and Phil Hartman as the voices of Kiki and Jiji again. Perhaps with this new IMAX screening, we might have even more people falling in love with this masterpiece in the present day.
