If you’ve been on the internet for any amount of time, you’ve probably heard of the story of the Backrooms. It started off as a short film and now is getting a feature adaptation from A24 from Kane Parsons. It stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve. The film hits theaters on May 29th, 2026.

The film also stars Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, and Lukita Maxwell. The script was written by Will Soodik.

The trailer doesn’t show off much for the film, which makes sense. This is an internet phenomenon and this film looks to follow in the footsteps.
