Kirsten Dunst is joining The Housemaid’s Secret. This news comes from Lionsgate, as they tout the new returns for the first movie. The Housemaid managed to bring in $400 million worldwide. A good showing for a movie with a lot of admirers after debuting last year. Paul Feig is back in the director’s chair for The Housemaid’s Secret. Sydney Sweeney is coming back as well. Her career reflects extraordinary range and fearlessness,” she said. “Opposite the ever-magnetic Sydney Sweeney, she will be an electrifying force in a world where nothing is ever quite as it seems.”

Here’s how Lionsgate teases the new film: “In The Housemaid’s Secret, Millie returns, taking a job keeping house for a woman she’s never allowed to see—only to discover the truth behind the locked door that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own.”

Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman produces with Paul Feig. Laura Fischer also produces through Pretty Dangerous Pictures. Sydney Sweeney has a production credit through her Fifty-Fifty Films banner. Chelsea Kujawa and Maria Ascanio are overseeing the project for Lionsgate.

Rebecca Sonnenshine is back as screenwriter after adapting the first book. Frieda McFadden wrote the series.
