Regular Show is perhaps one of the most well-received animated sitcoms in Cartoon Network history, and maybe even U.S. history. In spite of its relative obscurity compared to more popular shows like The Simpsons and Futurama, it still managed to impress critics and audiences alike. This series even won seven Annie Awards, six Primetime Emmy Awards, and three British Academy Children’s Awards over the course of eight seasons totaling 244 episodes, plus a feature-length animated film. It’s quite the success story, no matter how you look at it. And now, because of that success, we’re about to get more of this show.

Cartoon Network is proud to announce that Regular Show will effectively be getting a new season with Regular Show: The Lost Tapes. This new season/spin-off will air on May 11. 2026 across Cartoon Network’s global channels. This new season/spin-off will show “all-new chaotic escapades of Mordecai and Rigby” from showrunner J. G. Quintel. All starting off with a special half-hour long episode to boot. Alas, there is no trailer showcasing it, but there is a new key visual you can see below:

Regular Show: The Lost Tapes key visual
This entire visual gives you the impression that something is going to go horribly wrong very soon.

Fans of Mordecai’s and Rigby’s comic antics in Regular Show, rejoice! For we are basically getting a new season of the show with Regular Show: The Lost Tapes. And from it looks like, it looks like we’re getting something in between the outtakes of the show and the missing link between the episodes from the original show. How it will work out is still something we will have to wait for. However, given that Quintel is still the one running the show, this will be just as good as the original.
