The sense that everything is falling in TRIGUN STARGAZE gets quite strong very quickly in Ep. 11 “I Miss You.”. Whether it’s plot points and character arcs falling into place or Knives literally trying to make a “Genesis Big Fall” happen, there’s no doubt that there’s a whole lot of falling going on here. The only sure thing here is that the falls are all in preparation for one heck of a finale.

TRIGUN STARGAZE Ep. 11 “I Miss You.”: Details in Brief

TRIGUN STARGAZE NA key visual
Alas, Knives is making himself very much alone in this episode.

TRIGUN STARGAZE Ep. 11 “I Miss You.” is the eleventh episode (you can read my reviews of Ep. 1Ep. 2Ep. 3Ep. 4Ep. 5Ep. 6Ep. 7Ep. 8Ep. 9, and Ep. 10 here) of the second and final season of this reboot anime, with TRIGUN STAMPEDE serving as the first season. Said reboot anime is the reboot of the 1998 Trigun anime series, which itself was the anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Yasuhiro Nightow.

Studio Orange (Land of the LustrousBEASTARSLeviathan) returns as the animation studio behind this anime. Interestingly though, Kenji Mutō is not returning as the director, and none of the writers from TRIGUN STAMPEDE are returning either. Instead, Masako Satō will be the director, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu as the writer. Tatsuya Kato does return as the composer though.

The opening theme song for TRIGUN STARGAZE is “Picaresque Hero” by ano. Meanwhile, “Stardust” by FOMARE is the ending theme song.

Synopsis

Since we’re getting closer to the finale, the ending animation sequence seems appropriate.

Alas, TRIGUN STARGAZE is an ongoing anime series. In fact, Ep. 11 “I Miss You.” only just made its debut on March 21. 2026 exclusively on Crunchyroll. Thus, to prevent spoilers for those who haven’t watch this episode yet, here’s the official synopsis from Crunchyroll below:

“Knives arrives and captures Vash. His final plan is set in motion – as well as Vash’s final resistance.”

It’s never good when Knives goes full combat tentacle mode.

The great thing about Ep. 11 “I Miss You.” is how all the pieces of the story are falling into place in preparation for the finale next episode. Millions Knives (voiced by Ryūji Satō (JP)) has assumed a one-winged angel form in preparation for his coming genocide of humanity, while Vash (voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (JP)) has voluntarily allowed himself to be assimilated into Knives in order to try to fight him from within…except that’s not going particularly well. Especially since he finds out some horrible truths about his and Knives’ mother figure Rem Saverem (voiced by Maaya Sakamoto (JP)) in the process, and has a mental break from that, as well as from experiencing Tessla’s vivisection firsthand. Yeah, not a great time for him, so we’ll have to see how he fares next episode.

Aside from that though, we have some very interesting story going on with the other characters as well. There seems to be a running theme here of love and forgiveness cutting deeper than the sharpest blade, because that’s all it takes for Knives’ subordinates to peel away from him, one by one. The most notable example here is Elendira (voiced by Ayumu Murase (JP)), who turns away from Knives after realizing that he really doesn’t care about her, or anyone aside from Vash, really. Or rather, after Meryl (voiced by Sakura Ando (JP)) and Milly (voiced by Chika Ayamori (JP)) forgive her for her actions and offers her genuine love. It makes even more sense here given that Elendira is a child in this canon, and so cannot be held completely accountable for her own actions.

Story aside though, the animation from studio Orange is just gorgeous. It’s not just the smooth action in the fight scenes too, with Knives’ bone tentacle things whipping around everywhere while also being used as limbs. There’s a moment in which Meryl’s face falls into shock and horror the moment Milly reveals that it’s her first time driving a motorcycle…while driving it. The transition from calm to horror is so smooth and natural that you can’t help but be impressed by their CGI work.

TRIGUN STARGAZE Ep. 11 “I Miss You.”: The Bad

Still creepy even unto death.

Alas, if you don’t like CGI anime period, then Ep. 11 “I Miss You.” isn’t going to change your mind. It still shares the CGI look of the rest of TRIGUN STARGAZE. Again, Orange does some of the best CGI animation in the industry, but it won’t satisfy some viewers who’ve been poisoned by all the bad CGI anime out there.

And also alas, fans of Yasuhiro Nightow’s original story will probably not like how much Orange has changed the plot of Trigun with Ep. 11 “I Miss You.”. In particular: the fact that almost all of the major antagonists that died in that original canon appear to be surviving the events of the story here. Elendira and Gray the Ninelives both live in this canon…but funnily enough, Legato Bluesummers (voiced by Koki Uchiyama (JP)) still dies in this canon. The difference here is that Knives offs him instead of Vash, which changes the story quite drastically in order to show how little Knives cares about the people who work for him. It’s certainly quite the change from the old canon, and one that might be off-putting to people who care about that.
