Crunchyroll is partnering with Manchester United and Argentina International soccer star Lisandro Martinez. Together they are launching a limited-edition capsule collection for a tailor-made match-up between soccer and anime.
ABOUT THE CRUNCHYROLL LISANDRO MARTINEZ COLLECTION
This new collection is inspired by Martinez himself as well as his roots playing for Argentina and recently at Manchester United in the Premier League. In the world of soccer Martinez is known as “Licha” or “The Butcher. This is due to his intensity and fearless playing style that is often admired by soccer fans. But like many shonen anime heroes, there is a lot more to the name. This new collection with Crunchyroll represents a story of passion. As well as inspiration for Martinez allowing fans to learn more about him in a unique way.
“Something I love about this collaboration is that it allows me to show a different side of myself,” said Martinez. “When you’re on the pitch, you get so caught up in the game and live it with such passion that, in a way, you end up transforming too—just like the anime characters. The nickname “The Butcher” was born from the fans, so I think it’s a great way for us to connect.”
The Crunchyroll x Lisandro Martinez collection includes six exclusives that includes “The Butcher T-shirt” retailing at $50. The “Licha T-Shirt for $50”. The “Licha Crewneck Sweatshirt” for $65. “The Butcher Hoodie” for $90. Crew Socks for $20, and “The Butcher Scarf” for $35. The Collection is available exclusively on the Crunchyroll Store.
