The third in the Netflix series of action flicks with Chris Hemsworth, Extraction 3, is getting ready for a summer shooting date. Deadline is reporting that Hemsworth is back, director Sam Hargrave is back, and Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani also on board.

There are no plot details, but we can expect the same brand of high-octane action we’ve gotten in both of the first two films. When it debuted, Extraction broke viewership records for Netflix and was immediately one of their biggest fan favorite originals. The second film was really where they hit their stride with action.

Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco and Ari Costa will produce through AGBO; Hemsworth and Benjamin Grayson will produce for Wild State along with Hargrave, Patrick Newall, Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin.

Extraction is based on the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando Leon Gonzalez.

The third film has long been rumored and Hargrave himself has teased it, but it was always dependent on the schedules of its busy actors. Hemsworth signed on after he finished promoting Crime 101 and seeing the script.

The film should begin production this summer to work around his other film in production, Kockroach.

AGBO and Netflix have quite a strong relationship with seven films made together including their 9th most popular of all-time, The Gray Man.
