Scarlet Gets First Official US Trailer

Scarlet NA key art
A trailer worthy of this key art at long last.

I think most people would be pretty surprised by the fact that this Scarlet trailer reveals the anime film is done entirely in CGI animation. Some people might find that off-putting, but that’s typically due to having seen too many badly animated CGI. Well-animated CGI can look pretty good, and this anime film appears to fall into that category. The trailer shows off smooth and complex animation sequences not that far off from Studio Orange’s work. Not to mention that it also shows off a stylized animation style that takes full advantage of the CGI, giving the anime film an almost cel-shaded look to it. It will be fascinating to see this animation in full, on top of the story.

Which by the way, also appears to be very interesting. We seem to be seeing a dark, gritty war story starring a female main character hell-bent on revenge against the ruler of the land. It’s also a quest for revenge that seems to be partially interrupted by the appearance of a guy from modern-day Japan. It effectively makes this an isekai story from the perspective of the fantasy land, but we will have to see how it plays out when we actually see the film.

What do you all think? Does Scarlet now pique your interest; enough to want to watch it in theaters? Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below.
