Witch Hat Atelier is all set to make its exclusive streaming debut on Crunchyroll on April 6, 2026. As of this writing, that’s barely over a month away, so we won’t have long to wait before we can see how studio Bug Films (Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead) will animated Kamome Shirahama‘s manga of the same name. Naturally, this also means that Crunchyroll is very eager to hype up their upcoming anime. And from the looks of things, they’re getting a headstart on that.
At IGN Fan Fest 2026, Crunchyroll revealed an exclusive first look at their upcoming anime Witch Hat Atelier. Said first look is basically an entire minute-long clip of the anime, showing off the gorgeous animation Bug Films put into it on top of the cinematic prowess of director Ayumu Watanabe and the ethereal music by composer Yuka Kitamura. What do I mean by that? Well, you can take a look for yourself either on YouTube, or just look below:
Crunchyroll Unveils Gorgeous First Look at Witch Hat Atelier
No matter how you look at it, that one clip really shows off just how stunning Witch Hat Atelier is going to be when it makes its Crunchyroll debut. Just look at the sheer level of detail in every part of that clip. You can see individual strands of Coco’s hair moving in the breeze, every bit of cloth hanging out to dry rippling in the wind, and see the lighting details when Coco moves from light into shadow. Oh, and then there’s the attention to giving both Coco and Qifrey very detailed and gorgeous eyes. All of which reminds me of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End in terms of both story and animation quality. I do believe that we have ourselves a veritable hit on our hands when we can finally see it on April 6.
