Get ready for The Batman 2 to be even more of an MCU reunion. We had news last year that Scarlett Johansson was joining the cast of the film. Now according to Deadline, Sebastian Stan is headed for a role in the much-hyped The Batman Part II. The role is currently unknown, but if the deal fully closes, he’ll join up with Robert Pattinson and Barry Keoghan in the sequel. Matt Reeves is back to write and direct the sequel.
The Batman Part II starts production in the spring of this year and has a tentative release date of October 1st, 2027. James Gunn and Peter Safran are producing the film for DC Studios.
The Batman captivated audiences around the world to a tune of $772 million worldwide in the landscape following COVID-19 shutdowns, and was released day-and-date on HBO Max.
Sebastian Stan has been one of the longest-running actors in the Marvel Universe of films as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier. He most recently appeared in Thunderbolts* and will be seen in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
