Shudder and IFC have unveiled the official trailer and key art for their upcoming indie horror feature DOLLY. A gritty survival nightmare directed, co written, and produced by Rod Blackhurst. The film releases exclusively in theaters on March 6.
DOLLY Details
Blackhurst, whose previous work includes Night Swim, Amanda Knox, and Here Alone, leans hard into raw craftsmanship here. DOLLY embraces practical effects, grimy textures, and a heavy sense of place. Deliberately channeling the legacy of homemade horror born deep in the woods.
The story follows Macy, a young woman abducted by a deranged, monster like figure who plans to raise her as their child. As a result, the film blends survival horror with psychological dread. Drawing clear inspiration from New French Extremity and 1970s American genre classics.
Early reactions suggest this one does not pull its punches.
Daily Dead calls it “violent, bloody, and a hell of a lot of fun,” while Filmhounds Magazine describes the film as “creepy and chaotic.” Horror Buzz goes even further, labeling it a “cruel, unhinged movie.”
Cast and Creative Team
The film stars Fabianne Therese as Macy, alongside Seann William Scott, Ethan Suplee, and Max the Impaler.
In addition, Blackhurst co wrote the script with Brandon Weavil, continuing his run of tightly focused genre.
