In A Violent Nature gave audiences a look at what a slasher movie looks like from the perspective of the killer. Now the idea comes back for a sequel from the eyes of the villain with In A Violent Nature 2. The new trailer premiered at IGN’s Fan Fest 2026. You can watch it below.

The new sequel sees Johnny going to a summer camp, where he crosses paths with a young, outcast camper who is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at the camp during their end-of-season party. The first AD from the original film is now the director for this sequel, Nathaniel Wilson. The original director Chris Nash wrote the script for this sequel and he’s also producing the film alongside Peter Kuplowsky, Shannon Hanmer, and Michael James Regan.

Ry Barrett returns as Johnny and stars alongside Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven, Laurie Babin, Fionn Laird, Donald MacLean Jr., and Evan Marsh.

Shudder and IFC Films are releasing the film, coming soon.

Here’s what we had to say about In A Violent Nature in our review from 2024.

The cinematography is beautiful. If you like long shots of the woods that are framed beautifully, this movie is for you. The kills are violent and bloody, reminiscent of the power that slasher villains have sort of lacked in recent years. In A Violent Nature, it almost feels like it was better as an idea than in execution, and there could have been something quite different done with this idea.

The movie we get, though, is still an excellent exercise in horror filmmaking. In A Violent Nature might not be for everyone, but this is a film worth watching and then rewatching.
