‘Return to Silent Hill’ is now in theaters. This horror film doesn’t just bring us back to the terrifying and gloomy world of Silent Hill, but it also bring back Christophe Gans, the director for the cult classic film from 2006. Sticking with the theme or “returns” also back is composer Akira Yamaoka, who has been with the franchise since the original survivor horror game back in 1999 brining a familiar sound to the film.
A CONVERSATION WITH AKIRA YAMAOKA
With the release of “Return to Silent Hill” I had the amazing opportunity to talk with Akira Yamaoka about his work on the film and beyond. In our conversation he shared with me how he has been able to create those dark and gloomy emotions through his music that compliment the setting. We also talk about how he is able to blend nostalgia while keeping scores fresh with every new project. As well as his thoughts on looking back at some of his early work with Silent Hill. Its an amazing conversation that you can check out below!
