Geena Davis has built a long and accomplished career in Hollywood, defined by versatility and unforgettable performances. From Beetlejuice, Thelma & Louise, A League of Their Own, The Long Kiss Goodnight, and a multitude of others, she’s taken on roles that span genres while leaving an impact. Along the way, she also earned an Academy Award for her performance in The Accidental Tourist, further cementing her place among the industry’s most respected talents. Yet even with a résumé that impressive, Davis still has her sights set on something new. Speaking during her A League of Their Own spotlight panel at the 2026 Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), the actress revealed that joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now her “biggest goal.”
Geena Davis Has An MCU Goal
One of my biggest goals is to be in a Marvel movie, I have to say. It used to be Star Wars, and I was like, ‘I’ve got to get in there,’” But yeah, a Marvel character. Maybe a villain or something. I should go through their whole catalog of characters and see if there is anybody like me.”

Davis didn’t name a specific character, but with Marvel’s deep bench of characters, there’s no shortage of roles that would suit her perfectly. She brings authority, wit, and a commanding presence, qualities that elevate any character she steps into. At this stage in her career, the best fit would be roles defined by gravitas and layered complexity, rather than traditional action-first heroes. Much like Robert Redford’s turn in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Davis could thrive as a political power player or a calculating antagonist operating behind the scenes.
As the MCU continues to expand, especially with the X-Men on their way, the opportunities are only growing. Whether Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios make it happen remains to be seen, but the potential is certainly there. In the meantime, let the fan casting begin.
