Tubi is tapping into something terrifying! It promises to be the kind of fear that doesn’t jump out at you, but watches and waits. Check out the first look at HIVE, a new thriller premiering on Tubi April 17.

Leading the film is Marvel’s Xochitl Gomez, with Aaron Dominguez (Witchboard) joining her in a story that turns an ordinary afternoon into something far more unsettling. At first glance, HIVE plays in familiar territory. A babysitting gig, killing time at the playground. Then, a moment of distraction, and the child disappears. But this isn’t just a race against time. It’s a descent.

Gomez stars as a tightly wound teenager whose anxiety feels less like a character trait and more like a warning system that no one else can hear. When the child in her care vanishes, the situation spirals into something far stranger than a simple search. The playground, usually a place of noise and motion, becomes a camouflage. Something is hiding in plain sight, moving undetected among the children.

And the real horror? It might not be possible to tell what’s human and what isn’t.

HIVE is directed by Felipe Vargas. With this film, Tubi continues carving out a space in genre storytelling that doesn’t rely solely on spectacle but on atmosphere and concept. If the premise delivers, this could be the start of Tubi taking over another fantastic movie genre.
