The world’s first immortal rockstar has officially arrived. Today, AMC Networks and Lakeshore Records released “Long Face,” the debut single from Lestat de Lioncourt. The single arrives ahead of the highly anticipated premiere of The Vampire Lestat this summer on AMC and AMC+.
The track is now available on newly launched Vampire Lestat artist profile pages across major digital music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Additional songs from the upcoming season will roll out in the coming months. How exciting. I can feel the anticipation building for what AMC is positioning as a bold new chapter in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe.
WHO IS LESTAT AND WHY ARE THEY PROMOTING HIS MUSIC?

Lestat de Lioncourt is one of the most iconic characters in Gothic fiction. He is also the central figure of Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles. In the novel The Vampire Lestat, Lestat forms a rock band in the modern era and writes songs that openly reference vampire history. He uses music as both confession and provocation towards his ex-lover, Louis. Becoming an icon is his way of reclaiming the narrative after Louis publicly humiliates him with Interview with the Vampire. There’s a reason he’s called the Brat Prince.
The “Long Face” single features original music and lyrics by series composer Daniel Hart, with vocals performed by Reid. The song will appear in The Vampire Lestat. This third season shifts the focus of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire adaptation squarely onto Lestat as he embraces his larger-than-life persona and steps into the spotlight.
Daniel Hart described “Long Face” as the first song he wrote for the season, revealing that David Bowie served as a major inspiration for Lestat’s musical identity. Hart noted that Bowie’s glam rock era, particularly the Ziggy Stardust persona, influenced the sound, but emphasized that Bowie’s chameleon-like artistry was equally important. Viewers can expect Lestat’s music to evolve throughout the season as he searches for authenticity and self-expression on stage.
MORE ABOUT SEASON 3, THE VAMPIRE LESTAT
Season 3, retitled The Vampire Lestat, takes a rock and roll driven turn as he embarks on an electric multi-city tour. However, fame comes with consequences. As his band’s popularity skyrockets, Lestat becomes increasingly influential among both vampires and humans. At the same time, he is haunted by “muses” from his wild and rebellious past. His growing celebrity collides with a dangerous supernatural phenomenon known as the Great Conversion. This is an unnatural surge in the vampire population that threatens the balance of power.
In addition to Sam Reid, The Vampire Lestat stars Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle. The series is executive produced by Mark Johnson, creator and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice.
