Netflix revealed that A Different World has begun production down in Atlanta. A sequel series to the beloved sitcom at Hillman College. Kadeem Hardison, Jasmine Guy, Cree Summer, and Darryl M. Bell are all back. Charnelle Brown and Jenifer Lewis bring this beloved story to a new generation.
Felicia Pride is in the showrunner’s chair for the A Different World Sequel series. In a delightful turn for fans of the original show, Debbie Allen is back directing. She was the primary person behind the camera from 1988 to 1993. Allen directs the first episode and three more in this first season. Original writers Reggie Rock Blythewood and Gina Prince-Blythewood as executive producers too. Tom Werner and Mandy Summers also contribute executive producing duties.

- Dasan Frazier (STRAW, Law & Order, BET+ The Ms. Pat Show) as Xavier
What Is Coming with A Different World?
10 episodes with a single camera half-hour format on Netflix. You can expect more of life at Hillman College and some interesting turns on the legacy of the original show. Producer Felicia Pride told TUDUM about getting to add to such hallowed TV ground.
