AMC Networks has released a brand new sneak peek from The Vampire Lestat, the next chapter in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe, and if this clip is any indication, the upcoming season is about to be chaotic in the best way.

The scene, titled “The Book,” features Sam Reid’s Lestat and Jacob Anderson’s Louis in what appears to be a surprisingly mended place. The tension that once defined them has softened. There is ease. There is familiarity. Lestat is even trying to persuade Louis to visit him in Montreal. For a brief moment, it feels domestic. Stable. Almost healthy.

And then the bomb drops. Daniel Molloy’s book, Interview with the Vampire, has officially been released.

What follows is one of the funniest moments this series has delivered so far. Lestat learning that the world now has opinions about him, and not flattering ones, is comedy gold. His outrage is dramatic, theatrical, and completely understandable. The disdain. The criticism. The public narrative is spiraling beyond his control. It is enough to send any immortal rockstar into a spiral.

Sam Reid once again proves he understands Lestat’s ego on a cellular level. The indignation is layered with vanity, hurt, and just enough self-awareness to make it land. It is ridiculous without ever feeling cartoonish.

The clip also gives us a glimpse of how Lestat’s rock era truly begins. Across the street is a struggling garage band called Satan’s Night Out. If you’ve read the book, you know exactly where this is going. If you haven’t, you’re in for a treat.

The new season of The Vampire Lestat leans fully into its rock and roll identity. Lestat embarks on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by muses from his rebellious past. As his band’s popularity grows, so does his influence over both vampires and humans. That rising power unfolds against the backdrop of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population that threatens to shift the balance of their world.

LISTEN TO LESTAT’S FIRST SINGLE “LONG FACE”

The clip arrives shortly after the debut of “Long Face,” Lestat’s first official rock single. The track, composed by Daniel Hart and performed by Reid, is now available on major digital music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Additional music from the season is expected to roll out in the coming months ahead of the June premiere on AMC and AMC+.

If this sneak peek proves anything, it is that Lestat may be able to handle immortality, fame, and a global tour. Public criticism, however, might be his greatest challenge yet.

In addition to Reid and Anderson, the series stars Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle. The show is executive-produced by Mark Johnson, creator and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice.
