It’s been a week full of sequels, and now The Devil Wears Prada 2 is on the way. 20th Century Studios released a trailer for the movie today. Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs are back after all these years. Getting to see Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway back in these roles is a nostalgia rush you might not be ready for. Check out the new trailer up above!
Priestly’s red heels are here again, and they play off the cheeky poster for the original The Devil Wears Prada. A lot of the fans at home might as well have Streep’s character speaking for them when she says, “Took you long enough.” Earlier this year, Disney dropped a follow-up to Freaky Friday, and it was delightful. I think we’re headed for the same thing with The Devil Wears Prada 2. The 2000s are back in a big way at the movies.

The moment isn’t lost on Emily Blunt, who also returns for The Devil Wears Prada 2. PORTER talked to the actress about the strange feeling of nostalgia permeating the entire movie. She understands how important this is to so many people.
Blunt admitted, “When we made the first movie, none of us expected the meteoric life that it would have and the impact it would have on people.”

“As my husband [John Krasinski] said to me the other day, this is people’s nostalgia bank,” she continued. “They’ve watched this with their families 50, 60 times; they’ve watched it when their parents are sick; they’ve watched it when they’re sad, when they’ve gone through a breakup.”
