Sonic The Hedgehog 4 is coming soon and now we know who will be voicing Amy Rose in the film. THR is reporting that Kristen Bell is the new voice of the character. The franchise has added some major talent throughout the movies with Bell joining Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Keanu Reeves, who voices Shadow. Their voices join Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone, and James Marsden and Tika Sumpter as live-action characters. Jeff Fowler, who directed the previous three films will also return as the director. Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher of Original Films and Toru Nakahara return as producers.
The film has a March 19th, 2027 release date from Paramount. It might have started off rocky with a terrible Sonic design, but the movies have been huge hits for Paramount to the tune of over $1 billion at the global box office. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 grossed over $490 million at the box office.
There are no plot details as of right now, but the debut of Amy Rose has been one that Sonic fans have wanted since the very first movie. Amy Rose is a pink hedgehog, who is Sonic’s would-be girlfriend, even though he doesn’t reciprocate that feeling sometimes.
Each movie has had a mid-credits scene that teases the latest character to make their debut. Sonic 3 saw Amy Rose saving Sonic from a group of Metal Sonics.
Kristen Bell has been busy of late with the Netflix comedy series Nobody Wants This, and also stars in the Disney Frozen movies as Anna. She’s reprising that role in a third and fourth film. She’ll also star as Mrs. Claus with David Harbour in the upcoming Violent Night 2.
