Legendary’s live-action version of Gundam is heading to Netflix. Deadline is reporting that the streaming giant has acquired the rights to distribute the picture. It’ll star Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo with Jim Mickle on board to direct.

The project comes from Legendary and Bandai Namco Filmworks from a script by Mickle. He’ll also produce alongside his partner Linda Moran with their production company Nightshade.

Plot details are under wraps but this will be the first live-action entry in the Gundam series.

The anime series is one of the most revered and longest-running in history. It pioneered the sub-genre known as mecha, a variant that focuses on giant fighting robots. Gundam is set in the Universal Century, a future where humanity has colonized space. When a rebellion erupts between Earth and its colonies, the ensuing conflict is fought by pilots in massive mechs known as Mobile Suits. It launched with Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979 and has 83 animated series and movies, and a massive merchandise empire that pulls in $600 million annually.
