Sony Pictures is ready to bring back the Agents of the Men In Black. According to Deadline, they’re developing a new movie in the franchise with Bad Boys For Life writer Chris Bremner. There are no plot details currently and the script isn’t even finished but they do want Will Smith to reprise his role as Agent J. As for if he’ll be starring or supporting in the role, that’s also unknown, but they for sure want the character back in some capacity.
This isn’t a confirmation that Will Smith is returning, he won’t commit to anything without reading a script.
Men In Black was a big hit in the 90s and 2000s before the 2019 reboot MIB: International didn’t do as well as Sony Pictures had planned. Its grossed over $1.9 billion at the box office.
Bremner has written the last two Bad Boys movies that have done swimmingly for Sony at the box office and revitalized the series after being dormant. He’s also written Will Smith’s next movie for Netflix, Fast & Loose.
