Tom Cruise has been busy with Mission: Impossible films for the past couple of years, but he’s making a return to original action-comedy with the new film Digger. Check out the title announcement and a small teaser below.

There isn’t too much known about the movie right now besides that Tom Cruise stars, and Alejandro G. Iñárritu is directing. Here’s the synopsis.

The most powerful man in the world embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.

Digger stars Cruise, Riz Ahmed, Robert John Burke, Kenton Craig, Emma D’Arcy, John Goodman, and Sandara Huller.

It was written by Sabina Burman, Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolas Giacobone. It releases in theaters in October 2026.
