Iron Maiden are hitting the big screen for the first time since their film Flight 666 came out in 2009. Now, though, it’s not just a concert film mixed with documentary elements, this is a full-fledged look at the history of the band. Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition releases in theaters on May 7th, 2026. Tickets for the film go on sale on March 18th, 2026.

The film comes from director Malcolm Venville and is produced by Dominic Freeman. It charts the band’s five-decade journey from small UK clubs to selling out arenas around the world and everything in between.

Alongside the band, the documentary features on‑camera reflections from prominent admirers including Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich, and Chuck D, each speaking to Iron Maiden’s influence on music, culture and generations of fans worldwide.

The newly released key art by Albert “Akirant” Quirantes offers the first visual look at the documentary.

Formed in East London in 1975, Iron Maiden have grown into one of the world’s most influential and enduring rock bands. Across 50 years they have released 17 studio albums, sold over 100 million records, and performed almost 2,500 concerts across 64 countries.

The documentary arrives as the band continues its two-year Run For Your Lives world tour, which included a triumphant homecoming performance at London Stadium a short distance from where it all began five decades ago.

With unprecedented access to official band archives, IRON MAIDEN: BURNING AMBITION charts five decades of one of the most iconic journeys in music history. Featuring interviews with the band and contributors such as Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich, and Chuck D, this electrifying film offers an intimate look at their uncompromising vision and unwavering connection with their global army of fans.

Iron Maiden also recently announced a one-off show in historic Knebworth Park, England on july 11th called EddFest. They also have tour dates for the second leg of their Run For Your Lives World Tour.
