I wear blue light blocking glasses because I’m sitting behind a desk for the majority of my time at work. Typing articles all day and staring at a bright computer screen only to turn that screen off and look at another screen to play video games and then look at another screen on my phone, means a couple of things. 1. I’m looking at too many screens, my eyes must hate me. 2. I need some serious protection for my eyes.
Well, my eyes and I are going to therapy for the hatred part, but now GUNNAR has the solution to those issues with their Fallout Brotherhood of Steel Glasses. The new frames and lenses (which you can get fit with prescription or just the normal yellow-tinted ones like I did) are shaped to look like the Brotherhood of Steel would be packing them in the Prime Video series Fallout.
I’ve gotten glasses previously from GUNNAR and they’ve done the job, they’re constantly working on new frame technology and making it so that you don’t look like an absolute dork (or a gun safety instructor). With these new glasses, they’ve accomplished that and then some.
I have to wear these things all day and that means that comfort is the most important thing. My other pairs of blue light blocking glasses have been obtrusive and I’ve been rubbing the bridge of my nose. With these new GUNNARs, I’ve gotten into the car to grab lunch and forgotten I have them on. That’s how comfortable they are.

When you get your order, it arrives with the above swag. You get the glasses, a sturdy metal case, a cloth bag, and a lens wipe. For those that wear glasses every day like I do, that lens wipe is going to be your best friend through smudges, and other things that get on the lenses.
The entire package is sleek, and feels very much like Fallout. For fans of the games or the show, they’re stylish enough, but don’t stick out as strictly Fallout. They strike that balance that’s between fandom and functional, and I love that.
As for those smudges, the glasses are more resistant than normal lenses and you can even get these frames with a sunglasses lens (not available until May 2026). I’ve worn blue light blocking glasses since 2020 and I’ve used one pair basically that entire time, until I started using these glasses from GUNNAR.
