Sometimes the clearest sign that a comedy still has plenty left to say is not a trailer or a renewal update. It is the cast sitting on a couch, derailing every question into chaos, and somehow making that chaos feel like the best possible teaser for what comes next. That is exactly what happened during our WonderCon interview with the cast of Ted season 2. Max Burkholder, Scott Grimes, Giorgia Whigham, and Alanna Ubach did not just talk about the show. They accidentally sold the case for season 3 by sounding like they were already halfway through filming it.

The Cast Turned a Season 3 Question Into Total Madness

The strongest proof that this cast still has creative juice came the second the conversation shifted toward what they want next. Instead of giving polished answers, they built an increasingly stupid, hilarious fake season 3 arc around choirs, touring, and a budget so bloated Ted would not even appear in the show.

“She starts a choir. Yes. And goes on tour actually.”
“I want that as well.”
“I think John should start a choir. Yeah.”
“Well, the choir budget and the season three is huge now.”
“We actually don’t have enough money left to animate Ted, because of all the singing lessons.”

That bit works because it does not feel forced. It feels like four people who fully understand the show’s rhythm and know how fast a small joke can spiral into something ridiculous. Ted has always thrived when stupidity meets commitment, and this cast clearly still knows how to hit that sweet spot.

Their Chemistry Feels Like the Show’s Secret Weapon

The interview gets even more revealing when the cast starts talking about what they are proud of after season 2. Under all the swearing and cross talk, there is real affection here. That matters because sitcoms do not survive on jokes alone. They survive on people you want to spend time with.

“I want everything to stay the same. And I mean that. Like, I think this is like a sitcom from the 70s and 80s.”
“I’m really proud that Seth likes this show.”
“Whenever I see somebody being complimentary about the three of these guys sitting here on the couch, that’s what I’m very proud of.”

That is the real headline hiding inside all the nonsense. Scott Grimes talks about Seth MacFarlane laughing during scenes. Max Burkholder says the thing that makes him proud is the other cast members beside him. That kind of chemistry is hard to fake, and it explains why Ted feels so easy to watch even when it is being completely unhinged.

Season 3 Could Push These Characters Even Further

The cast also made one thing clear. They do not want to keep standing still. Even while joking around, they pointed toward the next logical step for these characters, especially for the ones who often play the voice of reason.

“I would want to honestly, though, get into some crazier situations just because I think that she’s always the voice of reason and kind of the one that holds it down.”
“I would love it if John got into some crazier situations, because he’s normally like the voice of reason.”
“It’s all very political and it’s all things that I very much agree with, the way that she handled those situations.”

That is where a potential season 3 gets especially exciting. Giorgia Whigham clearly sees room for Blair to get messier and more involved in the madness. Burkholder wants the same for John. At the same time, Whigham also highlights how grounded some of Blair’s material felt in season 2. That balance is what keeps Ted from becoming empty shock comedy. The show knows how to be outrageous, but it also knows when to let its characters feel real.

Ted season 2 continues the Peacock comedy’s foul-mouthed, weirdly heartfelt run, and this WonderCon interview only made the case for more.
