Xbox has seen some turmoil over the past couple of weeks, but it looks like that could be stabilzing with new Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma. The company has come out and announced it’s next-generation console is codenamed ‘Project Helix’. They’ve also confirmed that the console will play both Xbox and PC Games. Here’s what Sharma had to say on her social media accounts about the console.

“Great start to the morning with Team Xbox, where we talked about our commitment to the return of Xbox including Project Helix, the code name for our next generation console. Project Helix will lead in performance and play your Xbox and PC games. Looking forward to chatting about this more with partners and studios at my first GDC next week!”

There have been plenty of rumors about the next-generation Xbox being able to play PC games for a while now. The recent Xbox Ally handheld PC was already a step in that direction. As for any other information, or just what the next-generation console will hold are still under wraps. We should learn more at the Game Developers Conference next week.

This is a developing story and we’ll keep you updated as we get more news.
