Today is a holy day for fans of the cult classic show, Twin Peaks as it turns 30 this year. First airing on ABC, before getting cancelled in it’s second season. I remember bugging my dad to let me watch this genre bending masterpiece.

The show jumped out of the crazy minds of David Lynch(Eraserhead) and Mark Frost(Hill Street Blues). With it’s mix of crime drama and surreal elements changed TV. And as we fans thought they’d watch the smash hit alone at home. Star of the show ,Kyle MacLachlan, took to his Twitter this morning and invited fans to a watch party.

“Happy #TwinPeaks30! Bring your 🍩, 🍒, and ☕️ to join in on our #TwinPeaksWatchParty today • 11:30 am PT: Live Tweet of the pilot of #TwinPeaks w @madchenamick (Stream on @Netflix, @Hulu, or @CBSAllAccess). • 1:20 pm PT: Instagram Live Q&A w/ Mädchen,” MacLachlan tweeted.

Kyle and his co star Mädchen Amick, who played Shelley Johnson, relived the pilot episode and fans couldn’t be happier. Then the two of them headed to Instagram and talked about the joy of working on the show and answering some questions from fans. All in all, a great day to be a fan of this beloved program.
