Getting to Galaxy’s Edge in either Anaheim or Orlando was costly and difficult enough before COVID-19 hit. The ongoing pandemic, however, has pretty much put a full stop on visits to the Star Wars addition to the Walt Disney theme parks. As disheartening as this is, there is hope! If you can’t get to Batuu, Then Disney will bring Batuu to you. Legacy lightsabers, Jedi robes and more Galaxy’s Edge merchandise are headed to shopDisney.com later this month.
According to the official press release:
For the first time ever, items direct from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World® Resort and at Disneyland® Resort, will be available outside the themed land. Beginning September 28 on shopDisney.com, Jedi and Sith fans can outfit themselves for galactic adventure with garments and gear direct from Black Spire Outfitters, then complete the look with mysterious artifacts, including legacy lightsabers, from Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.”
Galaxy’s Edge merchandise available to all
This is a huge wins for fans hoping to get their hands on park-exclusive items without having to travel. (Or pay park entrance fees, suffer crowds, wait in line….) Frankly, making Galaxy’s Edge merchandise available online is a brilliant PR move for Disney. Right now the only thing we have to look forward to in Star Wars is Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Feature films are delayed. Likewise, even the anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi and Cassian Andor series won’t arrive when originally anticipated.
Giving Star Wars fans the ability to bring the franchise home with Galaxy’s Edge merchandise is a small but welcomed gesture. In fact, Disney’s even gone a step further. Fans can now vote on the next lightsaber to join the legacy collection! Choice include those from Anakin Skywalker, Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, and more. You can vote until October 1st HERE.
So get your credits ready, Jedi and Sith. This Galaxy’s Edge merchandise will be available September 28, but only for a limited time and in limited quantities.
