British actor Chris Mason will join Riverdale in season 5.
Mason plays Chad Gekko, Veronica’s husband. (Remember, season 5 will see a major time jump after the first couple episodes. This leads to quite a few relationship shakeups.)

What Do We Know About Chad Gekko?
Veronica’s husband Chad Gekko works on Wall Street. The character actually previously appeared in the spinoff Katy Keene. But since the role was recast, it’s unclear if Riverdale will take any of the events of the other series into account. What we do know is Chad is described as the controlling and jealous type (uh oh).
According to initial casting information for Riverdale season 5, shady deals with Hiram put Chad’s life in danger (uh oh again).
Plus, we know things will get complicated when Riverdale’s time jump brings the core cast back together. Chad feels threatened by Veronica’s friendship with Archie (HUGE UH OH!).
Basically, it looks like fans can expect a lot of drama and turmoil from Chad in the next season.
Where Do We Know Chris Mason From?
You may recognize Mason from another teen drama, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. He had a recurring role on the series as Nolan Hotchkiss.
Mason’s other appearances include a series regular spot on the third season of BBC detective drama Broadchurch, as well as a recurring role in the second season of Dirty John.
When Will We See Mason as Chad Gekko on Riverdale?
Since Mason’s role is time-jump dependent, we can actually pinpoint his first appearance. Fans will see Chad Gekko in the fourth episode of Riverdale season 5, airing February 10.
