Netflix has just dropped the first official trailer for their gritty Neo-Western, The Harder They Fall. The film is directed by Jeymes Samuel who helmed Jay-Z‘s Legacy music video. The legendary musician has a producing credit on this movie, along with James Lassiter, Lawrence Bender and the director himself. According to Netflix, The Harder They Fall is about:

When outlaw Nat Love discovers that his enemy Rufus Buck is being released from prison he rounds up his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge. Those riding with him in this assured, righteously new school Western include his former love Stagecoach Mary, his right and left hand men — hot-tempered Bill Pickett and fast drawing Jim Beckwourth —and a surprising adversary-turned-ally. Rufus Buck has his own fearsome crew, including “Treacherous” Trudy Smith and Cherokee Bill, and they are not a group that knows how to lose.

The movie has an all-star cast that includes Jonathan Majors, Zazie Beetz, Delroy Lindo, LaKeith Stanfield, Danielle Deadwyler, Edi Gathegi, R.J. Cyler, Damon Wayans Jr., Deon Cole, Regina King and Idris Elba.

Well, it looks like we all have a new film to put on our must-watch lists! The Harder They Fall looks like a brutal, action-packed thrill ride in the vein of Quentin Tarantino. It’s very rare that I get excited about a film in the western genre, but this looks to change that. They have rounded up one of the most impressive casts that I’ve seen in a movie in quite some time. And I have a feeling that the soundtrack for this is going to be incredible! Hopefully, Netflix will be announcing a release date ASAP, because this can not come soon enough!

Will you be putting this Neo-Western on your Must-Watch List?

The Harder They Fall will be in Select Theaters and Streaming on Netflix sometime this Fall.
