Is Wuthering Heights the greatest love story of all time? Emerald Fennell and Warner Bros. think so, according to the latest trailer for the upcoming film.
The feature is described as “a daring, emotionally explosive reimagining” of Emily Brontë’s classic novel of the same name. The trailer itself pegs the film as “inspired by” the novel. Although how closely Fennell’s film will follow Brontë’s novel remains to be seen, this trailer does drop some straight-from-the-pages references for fans. For instance, we get to see star Margot Robbie utter one of Cathy’s most famous lines: “Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”

Here’s the official synopsis of the film from Warner Bros:
A bold and original imagining of one of the greatest love stories of all time, Emerald Fennell’s “WUTHERING HEIGHTS” stars Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, whose forbidden passion for one another turns from romantic to intoxicating in an epic tale of lust, love and madness.
In addition to Robbie and Elordi, the film also features Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, Martin Clunes, and Ewan Mitchell.
Wuthering Heights comes from Oscar winner Fennell, who wrote and directed the feature. Oscar and BAFTA winner Jacqueline Durran also designed the costumes.
The film features original songs by Charli XCX.
Wuthering Heights hits theaters in time for Valentine’s Day on February 13, 2026.
