Nintendo just dropped the first look at the Legend of Zelda movie on social media. Bo Bragason is inspired by the curious version of the Hylian princess from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In addition, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth brings silent resolve as the hero, Link. The new images are nothing short of breathtaking, check them out down below!

“This is [Shigeru] Miyamoto. We have officially begun filming the live-action movie adaptation of “The Legend of Zelda” in the magnificent great outdoors, together with Bo Bragason, who plays Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who plays Link,” the beloved game designer wrote. “The filming is progressing smoothly, so I would appreciate it if you could quietly watch over us. The theatrical release is scheduled for May 7, 2027. Please wait just a little longer.”

He would add, “This is Miyamoto. Filming is underway for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda in a lush, natural setting, with Bo Bragason-san who will play Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san who will play Link (1/2).”

Just last week, Nintendo shared a new look at the Super Mario Galaxy movie. A special announcement surrounded the trailer. Fans discovered a shocking detail in that information. It appears that Miyamoto will now be helping out more with these movie efforts than in the weeds with game production. Long time Nintendo fans know, the producer and designer played a critical role in making the company a household name over the past couple of decades.

The Legend of Zelda movie releases in 2027. Here’s what else Miyamoto had to share. “Filming is on track for the film’s release on May 7, 2027. It will take a while until the release, so we would be grateful if you would wait patiently and look forward to it.”
