Mamoru Hosoda is perhaps one of the most famous director of anime films in the world right now. He has directed and written for such anime film masterpieces such as The Boy and the Beast, Mirai, and Belle. And soon, we are all set to see another masterpiece in the form of the upcoming Scarlet. Not only that, but we now know exactly when we’re going to see that anime film, but in what format as well.
Sony Pictures Classics is proud to announce that Mamoru Hosoda’s Scarlet will see its upcoming theatrical debut on IMAX. According to them, this IMAX release will make that debut on February 6, 2026 exclusively in Japanese audio with English subtitles. If you want to hear the English dub, then you’ll need to wait for the nationwide theatrical debut a week later on February 13, 2026.
However, even before all that, there will be an early screening of Scarlet as a qualifying run. That screening will take place on December 12, 2025 on IMAX screens in 10 select cities.

Alas, the news about this is so new that tickets for Scarlet are not yet available. However, when they do become available, you can find them on Fandango.
