This weekend’s box office delivered a familiar result at the top and a tight traffic jam underneath it. Avatar: Fire and Ash continues to operate on its own level, while three mid-range performers fight for the Top 5.

Avatar: Fire and Ash Refuses to Slow Down

Avatar: Fire and Ash pulled in $21.3 million in its fourth weekend.

The film is deep into its long haul phase now. The drops are minor, premium screens are still printing money, and there is no sign of audience exhaustion. James Cameron has built another marathon runner, not a sprinter.

Primate Opens Solid, But Not Spectacular

Primate

Primate debuted with $11.3 million, landing above modest expectations. That is a respectable start, but it also confirms the ceiling for this release.

The audience is there, just not in massive numbers. Between heavy competition and a marketing campaign that never truly cut through, this looks like a film that will rely on steady genre fans rather than broad appeal.

The Housemaid Keeps Its Footing

The Housemaid added $11.2 million in its fourth weekend, which is quietly impressive for a thriller in this market.

Zootopia 2 Continues Its Endurance Run

Zootopia 2 earned $10.1 million in its seventh weekend. At this point, the movie is running on pure family momentum.

Greenland 2: Migration Enters the Chat

Greenland 2: Migration opened with $8.5 million, which is fine but not exactly thrilling.

Disaster sequels live and die by urgency, and this one arrived without much of it. The number is not terrible, but it suggests a front-loaded run rather than a slow build. Unless word of mouth surprises, this will likely fade politely rather than roar.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple Looks To Zombify The Box Office

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is tracking for an opening in the range of $18 and $28 million. It’s getting good early buzz and is building off a solid first entry earlier in 2025. With good word of mouth and solid marketing, I see it making $25 million this coming weekend.

As always, we will see how it plays out next week.
