Sequels are not always a hit, but don’t tell that to Walt Disney Animation Studios. The house of the Mouse has announced that “Zootopia 2” has become the highest grossing animated Motion Pictures Association (MPA) film of all time. It crosses this milestone by passing another Disney/Pixar sequel, “Inside Out 2”. This also makes it the #9 biggest film in history worldwide.

“Zootopia 2” to date has made over $1.7 billion gross. This includes $390 million from the domestic box office and $1.3 billion from the international box office. This makes it the #1 global and international MPA release of 2025. Combined with “Zootopia”, the two films have combined a global box office total exceeding $2.73 billion to date. Fastest animated MPA, and fastest PG-rated, film to reach $1 billion. “Zootopia 2” continues its theatrical run in theaters worldwide.
