Ever since starting her Kellyoke feature on her daytime talk show, Kelly Clarkson has lovingly been referred to as a song thief. That’s thanks to her covers being so buzzed about that when they’ve dropped, that tune is pretty much hers. Apparently the team working on Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets took that as a sign to pair her with The Electric Mayhem; and that’s only the beginning of the awesome news I have to share for this refreshed attraction.
The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets’ Set List Will Be Entertaining Sooner Than We Thought
In an event unofficially dubbed the “week of Mayhem,” the folks at Disney Parks publicity have been slow rolling the announcement of the five songs you’ll hear on this new attraction. Today is the big finish though, as the Disney Parks Blog has revealed these songs as the musical accompaniment to your speedy streak across Hollywood – set to open on May 26th:
- “Song 2” – The Electric Mayhem
- “Born To Be Wild” – The Electric Mayhem featuring Camilla the Chicken
- “Love Rollercoaster” – The Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson and Questlove
- “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” – The Electric Mayhem featuring Def Leppard
- “Walking on Sunshine” – The Electric Mayhem featuring Kelly Clarkson
It’s kind of fitting that both Ms. Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson would be featured collaborators; seeing as Disney’s Hollywood Studios used to be the home of an experience themed after American Idol. No need to worry about auditioning, as the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets already has its talent roster locked down for both the ride and its queue experience.

The newly revitalized G-Force Records (purchased by Muppet entrepreneur J.P. Grosse, and run by his nephew Scooter) will actually be host to a bunch of celebrity talent you can spot around the building. In case you’re looking to pass the time during the wait, here’s who you should be looking out for:
- Awkwafina
- Danny Trejo
- Darren Criss
- John Stamos
- Neil Patrick Harris
- Travis Barker
- Yvette Nicole Brown
- Wayne Brady
- “Weird Al” Yankovic
Celebrity cameos, killer tunes, and Penguins! What more could a Muppet fan want? How about the chance to see Muppet history being made – right before your very eyes?

Muppet History, And Electric Mayhem, Await In The New Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster
If you thought that the switch from Walt Disney World’s original Aerosmith incarnation of the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was going to reinvent the wheel, think again. As you read this synopsis for our thrilling flight of fancy, it’s pretty much the same as its predecessor – but with more Muppets:
Once inside the queue, VIP visitors will discover The Muppets house band, The Electric Mayhem, laying down new tracks inside the recording studio. In the control booth, a team of penguin audio engineers are hard at work while band manager Scooter tries to persuade the musicians to wrap up and get to their increasingly restless fans. … With help from Muppet Labs (and a very fast limo), guests will take a twisting, turning, and screamingly fun road trip across Hollywood to reach the concert in time.
The influence of The Muppets didn’t stop at the interior of G-Force Records. As you can see in image above, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s iconic Stratocaster now has a similarly groovy paint job to the one that Fozzie’s Studebaker got in The Muppet Movie. As you read on, pay attention to discover the new Muppet history that accompanies this familiar touch:
A new psychedelic paint job gives the iconic red guitar marquee a groovy twist, and the piano motif at the base of the guitar will feature one gold key as a nod to a certain far-out band leader’s gold tooth. … Guests will be immersed in the story with the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter located inside the recording studio.
On one hand, I’m glad Beaker has his first Audio-Animatronic. On the other hand, there should be some concern for what’s going to happen to Muppet Labs’ long suffering lab assistant when this ride blasts off. We’ll all be able to see what that madness entails when the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens to the public, on May 26th.
